The NROTC program allows students to pursue a commission as an officer in either the Navy or the Marine Corps. While in the NROTC program, students are either "Navy", "Navy Nurse", "Navy MMR" or "Marine Corps" option midshipmen, and receive classroom and summer training for their chosen option. Students just starting the NROTC program will indicate which option they want. A midshipmen can request to change their options after they have started the NROTC program.
For high school students or college sophomores who are applying for the NROTC scholarship, your option will be based on the scholarship that you apply for (Navy, Marine Corps, Nurse).
